Vitamin D May Help Improve Diabetic Neuropathy for Patients in Fanwood

Peripheral neuropathy in Fanwood is a common type 2 diabetes complication, but a new study suggests that vitamin D may be helpful for improving this condition.

A study that involved 60 type 2 diabetics with painful peripheral neuropathy showed that oral supplementation of vitamin D-3 (50,000 IU) once weekly for twelve weeks led to improved vitamin D blood levels and a significant reduction in neuropathy symptoms.

The findings suggest that vitamin D levels should be monitored among those with diabetic neuropathy and should be corrected with supplementation to reduce neuropathy severity.

Chiropractors often utilize nutrition and supplementation when managing the overall health of their patients.
