For proper brain function, the National Institutes of Health notes that individuals should consume 2.5 micrograms of vitamin B12 each day. Vitamin B12 can be found in a variety of animal products and is especially high in fish, such as trout, salmon, and tuna. Other sources include chicken, eggs, cheese, yogurt, milk, and beef.
