Chiropractor Fanwood & Scotch Plains Explains The Connection Of Sleep Quality and Fibromyalgia
Sleep Quality and Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain along with other associated symptoms.
Sleep quality questionnaires completed by 326 fibromyalgia patients revealed that nearly all (92.9%) of participants suffer from a sleep disorder.
The researchers also observed a relationship between poor sleep quality and more intense symptoms of pain, memory failure, moodiness, excessive anxiety, and difficulty concentrating.
The findings suggest that improving sleep quality in patients with fibromyalgia may reduce the impact of their other symptoms on their overall quality of life.
