Sitting Around Is Bad For You Even If You Exercise

Did you know that even if you exercise, sitting around is bad for you? Top Fanwood Chiropractor Eric Chludzinski explains why.

Metabolic syndrome is closely linked to obesity and is described as a cluster of conditions that includes increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels, which increases a person's risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

The results of a new study involving 1,613 physically active adults suggest that despite exercising more than 150 minutes per week, participants who engaged in sedentary behaviors for more than 7.5 hours per day were two to three times more likely to have metabolic syndrome.
