Exercise May Reduce Risk of Depression for Those in Fanwood

An analysis of data concerning over 300,000 adults indicates that replacing just 15 minutes of sedentary behavior with vigorous activity each day can reduce the risk of depression by nearly 26%.

Lead researcher Dr. Karmel Choi writes, "We found evidence that higher levels of physical activity may causally reduce risk for depression… On average, doing more physical activity appears to protect against developing depression … and any activity appears to be better than none."

JAMA Psychiatry, January 2019.
